Coal Tumbles Across the Globe

More global coal-powered power generation was retired in the first six months of 2020 than was brought online. While much of the decline is due to the COVID-19 health crisis, much is also due to the changing energy landscape in the EU and elsewhere.

The decline gives countries an opportunity to reassess their energy landscape as the world slowly emerges from the pandemic.
