2019 Hottest Year on Record for World's Oceans

As reported in the New York Times, 2019 was the hottest year on record for global oceans. To date, the ocean's have absorbed 93 percent of the excess heat generated from human activities. The heat is piling up: 2018 was the second hottest, 2017 the third, 2015 the fourth, 2016 the sixth. Ocean heat is hardly the only abuse we wreak upon the oceans.
