Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, responds to Newt Gingrich and other Republicans claiming that global warming and clean energy policies are just giant energy taxes that will destroy the economy. Waxman cites Dr. John Reilly, the co-author of an MIT study Republicans have distorted, who explained to ClimateProgress.org that the GOP claims are a "gross exaggeration" and "just wrong."
Don't like the numbers? Make up your own or misrepresent those of someone else. Thus many in the GOP continue to fight against substantive progress to deal with climate change by using alarmist tactics, while at the same time accusing those that warn of the possible consequences of inaction as being - alarmist.
