House of Maiya Crafting Superhero(ine) Costumes for Kids Facing Cancer

Invited by Aoibheann's Pink Tie, an organization dedicated to providing practical and financial support available to children suffering from cancer in Ireland and their families, House of Maiya recently crafted one of a kind Superhero(ine) costumes for the kids.

House of Maiya, started when Maiya herself (now 14) was 10 years old. Debuting at New York Fashion Week and in the iconic fashion publication Vogue, the daughter / mother duo uses fashion as a vehicle to raise awareness and support meaningful causes.

Most recently, Aoibheann’s Pink Tie received one-of-a-kind House of Maiya costumes for the children receiving treatment at St. John’s Oncology Ward in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, the only treatment center for childhood cancer in Ireland.

What a lovely thing to do!

Hi Guys my name is Jimmy Norman my daughter was Aoibheann (pronounced Aveen) she sadly passed away from cancer in 2010. We started an organization here in Ireland to help children and their parents fighting childhood cancer. Aoibheann's Pink Tie is now the Irish national children's cancer charity.
